Village of

(Above) picture of the Jamul Indian Village 1960.

The building below Saint Francis of Xavier, was used by the Jamul Kumeyaay for meetings, in additional to cooking and other social functions. There was no electricity, running water and a wood stove was used to prepare meals. The interior had dirt floor and was replaced by tile later in years. The front section was added on to the "lean to" from behind. Many happy times were shared by all who came from distant villages to participate in activities that were held in the old clubhouse.
