Jamul Indian Village – December Newsletter
A Holiday Message from the Tribal Council
Dear Community Members:
During the holiday season we come together to be with friends and family. This year we reflect on the many blessings in our lives, but also pray for those enduring pain or struggle.
This year brought a major milestone for the Jamul Indian Village. Jamul Casino-San Diego successfully opened to the public on October 10, 2016. The opening was the culmination of several years of dedication and tireless work by JIV to open a tribal gaming facility to improve the lives of the tribal members and become self-sufficient.
Our people will enjoy significant improvement to our standard of living, including funding to educate our members and providing housing and healthcare.
We look forward to continuing to support the development of our community including roadways improvements and supporting fire and life safety in the region. This year, we officially delivered a new $1.1 million fire truck to the San Diego County Fire Authority. There’s more to come on the front of delivering on our commitments.
We also pray for those suffering. This time is about celebrating happy memories, but even in the brightest of seasons, we understand struggle knows no time of year.
To our friends, supporters, and the entire community, we wish you a happy holiday season.
