Erica Pinto was born July 12, 1975 in El Paso Texas to Carlene Chamberlain and Jesse Pinto. Erica took an interest in tribal politics shortly after graduating from Santana High School in Santee, California. Erica began her career working for the Tribe in 1994 as the tribal secretary, and was elected to Tribal Council in 1997. She has served on Tribal Council since that date, and is currently serving as Vice-Chairperson of the Tribe. She is also in charge of the Tribal Enrollment Department, as well as the alternate delegate for the Tribe for Southern Indian Health Council and Southern California Tribal Chairman’s Association. Ms. Pinto spends her free time taking pictures, kayaking, hiking, camping and practicing Bikram Yoga.
